This is the story of a journey that starts in Trani and the dream of an Apulian family. It is a story that begins with the sound of boats re-entering the harbor as the sun rises, the light of the white stone of the cathedral overlooking the sea, and the smell of saltiness. It is the story of a family, with an already well-known track record as chefs and entrepreneurs, that closes love, passion, scents and memories in a large suitcase to embark on a new journey.
Leave the harbor to begin a new culinary journey in the historic center of Florence. In the city of art and culture, cradle of the Italian language and hostel for poets and writers, Fishmood is born. The restaurant, where you can taste our cuisine, is located at No. 5/R de Peruzzi Square, which was born on the ashes of the old Roman amphitheater.
In the square, stands the tower of the ancient Florentine Peruzzi family. The story goes that within those walls was born the famous workshop of master Verrocchio, where a young Leonardo Da Vinci began to draw.
The finely renovated restaurant maintains the historicity of the building, with a few small reminders of our family’s homeland. A perfect marriage of past and present, designed by architect Costanza Landi and general manager Nicola Cancelli.
Fishmood is divided into two floors to provide you with the best dining experience. The lower floor is entirely dedicated to the Concept Restaurant, an intimate and elegant venue perfect for your events. In the historic hall, where in 1200 the king of England signed in agreement with the Florentine families the war against France, you will be guided to discover the flavors of the sea through chef Andrea Cancelli’s dishes. On the upper floor, however, you can imagine walking through the streets of old Florence and arriving at one of the famous Buchette del Vino, where a young Leonardo used to get wine for master Verrocchio.
Our chef brings to Florence the cuisine of his origins and the flavors of the sea of Puglia, the land where he grew up. His passion for cooking, care in choosing raw materials and the ambition of his young age turn his dishes into true delights for the palate. On his menu is his family history and unconditional love for this work. Hence this project was born, which is the perfect opportunity for him to establish himself on the Italian culinary scene.

Fishmood offers a chance to enjoy seafood cuisine in the ancient city of Florence. On the menu, created entirely by young chef Andrea Cancelli, are the origins of our family and the scent of the sea in the city where we grew up.
